CICLO CARTA BRANCA MIGUEL GOMES
FUNDAÇÃO DE SERRALVES - AUDITÓRIO

Duration: 120 Minutes
Classification: 12+
Promoter: FUNDAÇÃO DE SERRALVES

Miguel Gomes is one of the most unique filmmakers in contemporary cinema. Built upon the ruins of classic genres, his work subverts cinematic references and challenges the boundaries between documentary and fiction. It is the result of highly distinctive working methods and an approach in which playfulness goes hand in hand with political concern. This full retrospective puts all of his films into perspective, from his early short films to the feature-length works that established his reputation — such as Our Beloved Month of August (2008), Tabu (2012), the Arabian Nights trilogy (2015), or the most recent Grand Tour (2018) — and is accompanied by a “carte blanche” to the filmmaker, in which he proposes a selective journey through his cinematic universe, featuring the films that have shaped and influenced his career and that engage in a dialogue with his own work.
